Transportation, meals and lodging are not included in the cost.
Zion National Park is a nature
photographers dream! Towering sandstone mountains, deep canyons, slick
rock domes and the fall color of Cottonwoods and Maples. This workshop
will explore the best that the park has to offer and is for the fit and
adventurous photographer. Joe will lead you to the the most scenic
locations in the park including the Watchman Overlook, Towers of the
Virgin, Canyon Bonsia, Big Bend, show you secret photo spots on the
Virgin River, Kolab Terrace and Checkerboard Mesa. As always, we will
have at least two classroom sessions covering post capture digital
developing and at least one critique session. The workshop is limited to
10 participants and will be heavy on shooting and field instruction.

Optional Adventure Upgrade: Spend
two extra days with Joe hiking to the world famous Subway Slot Canyon
and hiking the Virgin River Narrows, the worlds deepest and longest
slot canyon for only $500.00 additional. Be sure to let us know you
want the Adventure Upgrade after registering.
You must be able to hike at least 4 miles one way, over
rough country and through canyon. Our two longest hikes involve a 9
mile round trip to the Subway and a day of hiking up the Virgin River
Narrows which requires moving through the stream at knee deep to waist
deep water. A dry suit, socks and shoes rental is required for this
hike. All other locations will be short walks and hikes from the cars.

Joe is also a co-author and contributing photographer two print books, The Ultimate Guide to Digital Nature Photography (Mountain Trail Press) and50 Amazing Things You Must See and Do in the Greater D.C. Area, The Ultimate Adventure Guide. Joe continues to travel extensively producing new and exciting images of the natural world as well as leading several photography workshops and photo tours each year.
